What most finance resumes look like
- Professional summary reads "Detail-oriented CPA with 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting"
- Every bullet starts with "Responsible for..." or "Assisted with..." - zero quantified financial outcomes
- Designations (CPA, CFA) listed once after name and never referenced again in the resume body
- Uses internal firm terminology - "TeamMate+", "Caseware", proprietary engagement codes - that external recruiters don't recognize
- Lists every engagement or project chronologically with no prioritization by relevance or impact
- Three pages for a mid-level role because "I need to show every audit season and every client"
- Skills section lists "Microsoft Excel" and "Financial Analysis" with no specificity or depth indicators
- Submitted to ATS - keyword mismatch with target role - auto-rejected before a recruiter ever sees it
